It is very flattering indeed to be given an award.
Ginny from Fish Creek Studio has honoured me with this one.
Liebster is german for favourite/dearest. How sweet is that!

It is to showcase bloggers with fewer than 200 followers. Upon accepting the award the recipient must then pass it on to five more blogs of note. A way of introducing other bloggers to the blogs they enjoy.

The Liebster Conventions says that :

1. Thank your award presenter on your blog and link back to him/her

2. Copy and paste the award to your blog

3. Present the Liebster Award to 5 blogs that you think deserve to be recognized

4. Let them know by leaving a comment on their blog

5. Have faith that your follower will spread the love too!

The five bloggers that inspire me, hence deserving of this award i am linking up to are:

Hootnz - some gorgeous work going on there - great photography too

Ning - has some great knitty adventures

Cath & Helen share a blog - sewing creations happening

Cyndy - some serious tiny teeny stitchy fun

Lamina has some gorgeous sewing adventures to check out

Ok i think i have fulfilled all the requirements.
Thank you again to Ginny for awarding me and i hope the girls i am passing this onto will do the same.
Have a sunny, happy, healthy, lots of laughs week girls x

Beautiful days abound

in these glorious hills this time of year.
Winter is sneaking in early i am sure and i am loving the change.
The skies are so clean, crisp and clear.....you could not want for better.
One of my favourite spots to sit on days like today
Under the olive tree.....

My partner has received my parcel from the Denyse Schmidt so i can show now.
I dont know about you but it always feels good to receive news that my parcels have arrived when mailing overseas. In my attempt to make the most of my time and to learn some new quilting techniques and at the same time meeting others i have joined in a few swaps.....this is a great way with making smaller things to learn i feel. I sent this partner the left over binding hoping she may use it for some other small treasure to accompany her mini and pincushion i mailed her.

loved making these New York Beauty Blocks

and this sweet pin cushion as part of the Zakka Sew Along

May seem a little silly to some but i really enjoy making my own binding

I am also making some progress with my Prism cutting.
What i love about this QAL is the 2 weeks in between stages which gives plenty of time for this girl in between work, the paddock and everything else going on around here....a very manageable pace.
If you are interested it is not too late to  hop  on over.
Anna Maria Horner designed this quilt and with Janome  (flickr) and the very helpful
Bianca over at Sweet Diesel Designs you can pick up all you need to know.
I am loving the process so far and imagining this to be too beautiful to part with!!

Before i leave i want to leave a picture (not very good one) of the view from my bedroom when recently on holiday in Cloudy Bay,  Bruny Island, Tasmania. Such a magic magic spot!
See what others are getting up to today over here.
Thanks for stopping by.
Sweet day x   sadly my knitting has been neglected this week, but its certainly cool enough for it!!

2+2=happy

.....content, ready to go again... i think.
Almost at the end of a wonderful 2 week sojourn to the south east corner of Tasmania.
We shared our time between 2 places of the Apple Isle. After a couple of days arriving in the capital, spending a short time exploring and gathering supplies we took off for 5 days to a remote cabin in Cloudy Bay, Bruny Island.
We arrived in extreme weather conditions, even a couple of locals asked us the next day if we were ok... funny, as obviously we were. Also obvious is that we must be used to 'extreme weather conditions' as we were surprised of their concern for us.
Nice all the same. The next few days we spent exploring the north and the south, 65 kls of island peace, quiet, beauty, stunning diverse landscape.
In the wee hours I spent my time knitting (brought not one but two projects with me) crocheting (only brought one of those projects) or hand sewing (also one project). Darling Pierre, cooked mostly all meals while I played 'lady of leisure'. He is a darling.
We walked in the not so wee hours many miles of land and seaside.
Unfortunately as I am a dummy user of this modern device, I have not learned yet how to transfer pics from the camera to here. Boring I know. But I promise you I did get some great pics.
We then transferred to a wonderful location in Cygnet Bay. It was gorgeous here, although personally (and fortunately) we both prefer ocean.
6 days and many miles of the south east corner it is almost time to pack for the trip home.
I have loved the cool change, the seasonal landscapes, colour, the water, so so abundant water....
I will leave with one photo taken with this little gadget. This photo is taken from my bed. No wonder it was so hard to remove myself each day :)
Thank you for popping by x

Its not the weather

no no
i started on this at the beginning of summer last year
thats almost 6 months ago for us in the Southern Hemisphere.
With my left hand in a splint for 2 months allowed me a little and very slow stitching fun
but i certainly was not able to knit
And yes the weather also know has encouraged me to pick this Tealeaves Cardigan up again.
I lashed out and bought the pattern and the beautiful Merino DK in the colour way Fathom....
such a deep deep sea blue...it is proving an absolute delight to knit with and a simple pattern.
I must admit though, it is a little more difficult to knit at night...given its dark shade.
I just make sure i am sitting under a brighter light. Seems we have a lot more mood lighting in this house with all the chandeliers...must buy another spotty or two.

I am taking a wee holiday and traveling even further south to the southern most corner of Bruny Island next week. Cloudy Bay offers a humble little cottage with limited modern day resources.....but breathtaking landscape and views.
I will be taking my deeps sea blue Tealeaves with me ...not sure if i will be overcome by the views, but the intention is to knit a good part of this while recreating.
To see more yummy knitting i am sure pop on over here
thanks for popping by and have a beautiful day
it sure is extremely fresh crisp and a soft blue sky here this morning ...xx
